a photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smart phone/regular phone/webcam or camera and it would be shared via social media.
How I feel about Selfies
selfies are not that important to me but I feel that selfies show off how a person might be feeling and how they want to pose and show off, selfies would mostly be on social media people like to post stuff like this just to get likes and to feel pretty. Examples of Selfies down below
Describe the challenge
we got to choose a partner/group for this exhibition and my partner was Emi, and our poster was called 'more Maier' and what we had to do was get some of Vivian Maier pictures and cut them out while thinking about what order we want then in, a good order that represents Vivian maier at first e was thinking about putting her pictures in her initials and that would be( V.M). But by the end we decided not to represent her in her initials we discussed another way like a pattern like a mix with checkerboard. We explained what we did at the bottom of the Paige
explanation
"This is our exhibition of Vivian maier. we picked out a vaierity of black and white photos. Vivian lived a very lonely life and we think the reason why she took so many photos is because even though she had a private life taking photos was her way of connecting with people and socialising with others"
I think me and Emi worked well as a team we thought about our decisions deeply like where we want everything to go what colour we want everything to be. for example: we had a decision If we wanted the pictures to be black & white and coloured or just coloured but we chose black& white only because it was what we was feeling and it looked more creative in my eyes my exhibition did make sense because we thought out everything deeply, explained and answered question. the only thing I found most challenging was figuring what order to put the pictures in. next time me and Emi will think about doing more patterns and colours.
Assessment
in lee Friedland photograph you can see the two different kinds of reflection.the mirror reflects the photographer and everything is behind the photographer. in the picture you can see everything, the building.its all black and white. In the picture you can see two man figures, the man figures to the right is standing with the picture in his hand but it looks very see through everything is a window frame and it shows strong silhouette. in the other pictures its very black and white also in the 'Francesca woodman- from angel series Roma I can see how straight and horizontal lines in the this picture I can see how that there is know mirror or reflection only a door and a radiator next to it but this is know ordinary closed door its also an open door and inside the door you can see a room with a type of main object and a hand. with (all 3) they have a few similarities such as: a man with a hand, shadow figure, black and white.
Francesca woodman photograph includes different types of frames like rectangle, the whole Frame of the pictures is squared the inside the picture you can only see rectangles like the frame of the door is along open wide rectangle theres two different figures in the picture, in the room the tall long one is a squared like frame I think its a chair, the other one with the hand on it is another rectangle so maybe all woodman was trying to do is taste his picture off of a shape. And in all images you can see the space of each frame that the figures might be holding, an object. as soon as you take that first glance you can see the rectangular frames but it can confuse the views. some objets disrupt the space and conceal the figures with an almost sculpture quality.
I think all these pictures are mysteries because you cam tell that there is some type of mysterious shadow fifers in two and you would also notice the husband because mostly in woodman, work the mysterious hand behind the type of status like who's hand is it? what else is in the room? is the hand Real? . all of the photos are all unusual and different objects and maybe different people to. I appreciate Kenneth Josephens photo because he made this picture seem very realistic because of the cut out black paper made out into a square and he put it right infant of the hand of a women/ man. because I can see alot of the details in it all the frames and the photographer made his own little frame inside the actual picture but of a hand.
